Terms of use

Terms of use

These terms explain the main rules for using TootyToot as a member, organiser or contributor.

Last updated

In short

Use TootyToot honestly, locally and respectfully. Do not use it for abuse, scams, spam or commercial transport. If something unsafe or misleading happens, organisers or TootyToot may step in.

Using TootyToot

TootyToot is a private local community service for asking, offering and coordinating everyday neighbourly help. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to use it in a lawful, honest and considerate way.

Accounts and security

You are responsible for the information you add to your account and for keeping your sign-in details safe. You should not let someone else use your account, and you should tell TootyToot if you believe your account has been compromised.

Adults only

TootyToot is intended only for people aged 18 or over. By creating or using an account, you confirm that you are at least 18.

Community organisers decide which eligible adults to admit to their community. Their approval is not formal age or identity verification and does not allow someone under 18 to use the service.

Joining the right communities

You should only join communities that genuinely relate to where you live or where you regularly take part in local life. Community organisers may refuse, review or remove memberships that appear misleading, unsafe or unrelated.

Posts, messages and listings

You remain responsible for what you post, upload, list and send. Do not use TootyToot for abuse, harassment, dishonesty, spam, scams, impersonation or sharing private information about another person without permission.

If you submit a business listing, recommendation or review, it should be fair, genuine and based on real experience.

Informal lifts

TootyToot helps members coordinate informal lifts directly with each other. It does not provide, assign, dispatch, guarantee or insure transport, and it is not a taxi, private hire or commercial ride-hailing service.

Drivers and passengers remain responsible for their own choices, conduct, insurance, vehicle condition and legal compliance. Lifts must not be offered for profit.

Community standards and moderation

Posts, replies, memberships, business listings and other activity may be reviewed, limited or removed where community rules are broken or safety concerns arise. TootyToot may also suspend features or accounts while concerns are being investigated.

Availability of the service

TootyToot aims to be reliable, but the service may change, pause or be unavailable from time to time. Features may be added, removed or updated as the product develops.

Voluntary support

Voluntary contributions help with TootyToot's running costs but are not a purchase of community access, influence, ranking or information about other members. Ordinary features remain available without contributing.

Stripe processes payments and provides the billing portal. Recurring support continues until cancelled. You can cancel future renewal or update payment details through the portal without contacting an administrator; cancellation does not affect normal account access.

Content and ownership

You keep responsibility for the content you submit, but you give TootyToot permission to store, display and process it so the service can function, moderate issues and support your community experience.

Suspension or removal

Accounts may be restricted or removed where there is rule-breaking, repeated misuse, dishonesty, unsafe behaviour, attempts to exploit the platform commercially, or actions that place other members or the service at risk.

Privacy and legal information

Your use of TootyToot is also covered by the Privacy & cookies page. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remainder should still continue to apply as far as possible.
