Most activity on TootyToot is simple, neighbourly help. Take the same sensible care online that you would when meeting someone locally.
Decide what feels right
You are never expected to accept help, enter someone’s home, lend an item or travel with another member. It is fine to say no or change your mind.
Accounts and checks
A TootyToot account is not proof that a person has received a formal identity check or DBS check. Use your own judgement when making arrangements.
Meeting and collecting items
If you are lending, borrowing or collecting something, choose arrangements that feel sensible to you. It is fine to meet in daylight, bring someone with you or cancel if anything feels wrong.
Money and requests
Be cautious around unusual payment requests, pressure to move conversations elsewhere immediately, or stories that do not add up. TootyToot is meant for genuine local community use, not scams or hidden commercial activity.
Report a concern
Report content or behaviour that seems unsafe, dishonest, abusive or commercial. Community organisers or the TootyToot team can review it.
Immediate danger
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. Do not rely on a TootyToot report for an emergency response.
